Samsung’s Bixby

I worked with SDL International’s Creative Writing Team developing dialogue for Samsung’s digital assistant, Bixby, available across millions of devices worldwide. The Bixby character stressed emotional intelligence and companionship for the user. User Utterances were categorized in a database and Responses were crafted matching Bixby’s characteristics and accessible functionality for the user. Bixby is the user’s trusty sidekick, always ready to help and listen intently. I particularly enjoyed writing jokes and holiday-related dialogue for Bixby. If you ask Bixby to tell you a Christmas story, there’s a good chance it has my fingerprints all over it.

Passion Analytics’ Pat

I worked on the character development of Passion Analytics’ PAT (Passion AnalysT). Passion Analytics helps users pinpoint their passions and strengths to effectively design career paths. Perhaps you’ve just graduated and need to figure out what to do in the real world? Or maybe it’s time for your second act and you need a little guidance? You should have a chat with PAT!

PAT utilizes the latest developments in Career Design to guide users through incisive coaching sessions that lead the way towards meaningful, happy careers. I wrote PAT’s initial dialogue and assisted in developing conversation branches and supplemental materials to enhance the user’s interaction experience. PAT is helpful, positive, and will never pass judgement. That being said, PAT is a coach, so expect a few assertive nudges every now and then.
